About our Institutional Equities Team:
Baird’s Institutional Sales and Trading group includes more than 200 professionals in research, sales and trading and delivers high-quality, objective research in the sectors our clients seek timely, actionable insights. Our dedicated research team delivers comprehensive, award winning coverage of over 725+ stocks providing our sales and trading teams the opportunity to distribute and execute a high quality product and service for our clients.
We are seeking an individual who is driven by both data analytics and client service with the ability to successfully manage multiple priorities. An Intern for Institutional Equities works across the sales and trading department to provide a high level of client service and support. Individuals who are data focused with a desire to work in a fast-paced environment will thrive in this internship.
Internship Location, Availability and Hours:
The intern must be able to work part-time during the school semester, ranging between 15-20 hours per week and full-time during the summer, 37.5-40 hours per week. We are seeking a local student who can start in June 2021. This position is based out of Baird’s downtown Milwaukee headquarters and will be a virtual internship experience with the potential to convert to onsite in the future.
As an Institutional Equities Intern, you will:
Accurately complete monthly reporting for client resource usage
Process expense reports
Help gather, input, and maintain accurate data in our Client Relationship Management (CRM) system
Compile client data to maintain current and develop new client partnerships
Maintain client records using a variety of research tools. Compose letters, emails, and reports from verbal or written instructions
Complete administrative tasks and support for the department
Manage various projects based on department needs
What we look for:
Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or relevant field with an anticipated graduation date between May 2022-May 2023
Must be data-focused and detail-oriented with the ability to recognize errors in numbers, spelling, grammar, and punctuation
Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize daily workflow and demonstrate good follow through skills to effectively meet deadlines and ensure a successful end result
Ability to be flexible and highly adaptable to tolerate peak workloads and maintain composure in a high-volume, high-intensity environment
Excellent computer skills with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience utilizing pivot tables in Excel is helpful
Outstanding communication skills with the ability to effectively exchange ideas and information or influence others with a high level of professionalism
Strong team player with willingness to pitch in and help other team members and leaders as necessary
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
